Our friends Battenwear are turning retail topsy-turvy by setting up camp on the 16th floor of 265 West 37th Street (at 8th Avenue) in NYC’s Garment District. Adventure loving guests are welcomed with homely and heart-warming knick knacks like dinosaur figurines hiding about the store’s shrubbery; vintage maps; the tropical smell of their very own surf wax; as well as stacks of old surfing and camping mags that you can flip through while waiting (comfortably on their appropriately themed chairs) for your mate to try on different colour combinations of their vast style range for guys and gals.
We love how Battenwear have recently splashed out into womenswear while keeping a wonderfully unisex fit so that gals like us can run, climb, and star-jump to our hearts’ content. Have a look at how rad their sports gear looked on X0809 when we interviewed them last week.
Before you start crying because there’s no way you’ll be in New York anytime soon to play camping in Bivouac store, hold your horses because we almost didn’t mention that they’ve lit glowing embers online too. Have a look for yourself.
