Our pals The Hill-Side have been working away at bringing us the most textile-delicious store possible. So as of yesterday November the 5th, the doors of the first ever The Hill-Side flagship store opened. Come walk around the store with us!
Fresh off the press and our pals Emil and Sandy Corsillo of The Hill-Side have grabbed place of ’GQ’s Best New Menswear Line’. Thinking about the ingredients that make a energy bubble like the Corsillos’ and I’ve put it down to a great balancing act of taking and giving. Here we asked co-founder Emil about smells, life, and zombies, as well as explore their tight thread tradery.
History is what inspires and informs who we are here at Ponytail Journal. It guides us forwards, inspires us to create, and perhaps gives us space to revisit our own identity. This week’s w’menswear editorial is much a reflection of history’s greatness that we strive to keep alive. The setting is much inspired by early portraiture that characterised early photography where thought, consideration, styling and the preciousness of each shot were made it special.
Our pals The Hill-Side are having a fiery sample sale. Like the ones you see on TV where there are spinning logos and end words are repeated in threes. In celebration of all things sample, all things well made, and all things very affordable, founder Emil Corsillo took a bunch of selfies in their warehouse to show you the many uses for their wares. Get in on the deets! It starts tonight and only lasts ’til Wednesday!
Shot by our dear pal Eric Kvatek on his birthday, we’re proud as a peach to present to you some w’menswear favourites for the season. This year brings the 10th year that our oyster loving, Harley riding, s’mores centred, funnest photographer ever has been shooting for Kapital, and that’s kind of epic in itself. Here are looks for the Parisian w’menswear nerd.
It’s almost impossible to go past a David Hart ensemble. So, we couldn’t bare missing his Bauhaus flavoured Spring Summer ’16 showing at Industria Superstudio today for the first day of the New York men’s shows. We asked our pal Emil Corsillo of The Hill-Side to show us his favourite looks, because he has impeccable taste. Pretty much spot on.
Today we did a little style feature in The Sunday Telegraph down under. We had the honour of representing all of our friends, Nigel Cabourn, The Standard Store, Incu, The Hill-Side, Viberg Boots, Armour Lux, and A.P.C. At the end of the day, what’s life about if you can’t be proud of your pals?
Tonight the Nigel Cabourn family will officially celebrate vintage military, great women through history, and the beauty in detail with ’Cabourn’s Vintage Exhibition & Ballroom’ in Tokyo. We give you a sneak peek to tantalise your tastebuds for delicious w’menswear to come.
