The Limited Edition Souvenir Dress and Shirt are two of our special garments in our SS22 collection, and are two new silhouettes we’re introducing this summer for our store. Specially commissioned versions for both styles are made in a hand woven indigo ikat, woven in the Roi Et province of Northeastern Thailand. With our special bamboo buttons, utility pockets, and a dreamy gathered cotton voile hem, this fabric is a testament to tradition, history, and artisan craftsmanship.

‘Mudmee’ is a technique of hand weaving fabric on old wooden looms, known as ‘Ikat’ weaving throughout the world, but is referred as mudmee weaving in Thailand. This weaving method doesn’t create solid colour fabric, but rather produces hand-woven fabric with a pattern or design.

We commissioned this fabric ourselves during a trip to Row Et where we worked on the design of the fabric with the craftswomen. We’ve previously worked with this same group of women weavers from Moo Baan Sawang, who work so on their own time and nominate their own fair price for their craft. It is important for us to work with small artisans who are passionate with their craft in industries which prioritises the traditional way of life.
