Our friends The Hill-Side have genuinely wizard-ed their way into our shoe hall of fame with their just released Bridge Mid Sneaker, a brainchild of theirs that apparently came from a 70s US military ’Delta Shoe’, but to us its something of a hybrid of the WW2 chukka (maybe familiar now to you as the desert boot) with the herringbone sole of a clay court tennis shoe.

As a not-so-well-known destination on the vintage route in Tokyo, Mel Antique deserves every bit of recognition for its exquisite collection of French cotton and linen, ranging from 1830 to 1950. Owner Takatoshi Tanaka is no understatement to the term ’passionate’, and his spirit is rooted in France where he spends long digging trips around the countryside - looking for these incredible pieces from old barn houses and warehouses.

We’ve mixed and matched strong acetate with classic workwear silhouettes, using all the vintage from Down Under we could get our hands on. Pastel tones were the base colours for our Australiana festival, and we even managed to throw a classic pair of King Gee coveralls from the 70s for good measure.
