Arms Burger is a puppy-friendly joint tucked in a side street near Yoyogi park. Sounds good already? Expect friendly staff, expect a queue on a sunny day, expect thick cut wedges, and generous portions. This is what you get at Arms, a no frills burger joint that also make epic diner-style weekend brunches and pretty great marshmallow-rice-krispy squares. It projects a laid back vibe and attracts young families (usually equipped with awesome puppies) and really anyone else who is dog-deprived and craving burger.
I order a standard hamburger that comes with a generous helping of hand cut wedges, the patty isn’t overly fatty but still retains a good amount of moisture. If you’re like me and like your burger pink in the middle, make sure you specify this when you order otherwise they come out quite well done (to my eating partner’s delight). The bun is impressive: A brioche style bread that isn’t sweet and has a toasted ‘outer’ and nicely soft ‘inner’. We also get a side of hash browns and a Pop-eye Salad that is also generous with tasty bacon bits and shredded cheese. This place radiates kindness with its bottomless coffee cups and bountiful portions. It’s definitely a great weekend spot that would cure the most evil of hangovers or worst form of ‘hangry’.
Happy Burger! (Map to their Park-Side Burger Shop is here).
