We’re delighted to see French label Sessùn coming forward with a super military-inspired outerwear collection. Think about heavy military coats in virgin wool, tailored to a super feminine shape to bring back elegance to the silhouette... And they didn’t miss a beat in bringing out the cable knit turtleneck back (respect).
Presenting an important Ponytail lesson about the internet, censorship, selective-ism, and an editing strategy when it comes to your brand - featuring our latest vintage spread in A Day magazine.
Our pals The Hill-Side have been working away at bringing us the most textile-delicious store possible. So as of yesterday November the 5th, the doors of the first ever The Hill-Side flagship store opened. Come walk around the store with us!
We bring you all the winter inspiration you need fresh from London’s Army Gym by Nigel Cabourn. Think denim suits, army jackets, windbreakers, suede workboots, and you’re on the right track.
It’s a fact, contouring is the word of the moment for us women, but is it going to be forever relevant? Of course a little part of us wants to look Hollywood at best, but I’m here to say that the answer can’t possibly be masking our skin. Besides, IRL, wearing it thick is not going to be good for your skin in the long run.
Presenting you our favourite things to do in Paris. Every stone surface, marble floor, forged iron fence, grandaddy fruit tree, and crack in the pavement is a magnificent mark of time, and I think the French are right to be preserving it with a mighty stubborn foot. So we tip our hat to inspirational juju that’s rooted in Paris, and the many colourful characters who explore the Universe in a wonderfully French light.
We all are responsible for our destiny through our many little choices that in fact set us on a future path, a trajectory, if you like. The founders of (re)vision society are thinking in a way that could transform manufacturing and the future of industry into a much more efficient, and realistic model. So we went to see their entire design and manufacturing process to get an idea of how it all works and how the system is bound for collapse.
Welcome to PTJ’s New York city. I’m sure you’ve seen a bunch about it on the internet, or perhaps watched your fair share of Law and Order, but my New York city is a series of personal interactions with some wonderful folk who define the great hub. Last month we teamed up with our pal Bill Gentle ( or Backyard Bill ) to eat and hop our way through the wild city for Farfetch.
We travelled up to the salty and historic land of Holy Island in Northern England, to document some of the newest additions to the Nigel Cabourn vintage archive. We’ve patch-worked Fearnought jackets, WWII beastly overcoats, and some fantastic knitwear together to get you geared up for the cold weather.
For Cabourn fans around the world, the new Cabourn x Lybro collaboration might have popped up on the radar this year. Lybro, an iconic British workwear label established in 1927, clothed factory workers of the wartime. So when Nigel Cabourn bought rights to Lybro, that iconic yet deceased piece of British workwear history, we got really excited about the prospects of breathing life back into this great giant.
Your smell is something that is a really huge part of how people remember you. Think about how your partner smells, and how you miss it when you’re away, or how the smell of fresh sheets can make you feel homely in a hotel room. Here we’ve tried and tested some very exciting fragrances on the market right now that you mightn’t have come across at your average pharmacy. These are our selects of (pretty) unisex smells that take you to a place, time, or moment elsewhere at first scoosh.
What’s to come at The Brooklyn Circus this fall are some kicks that will put up a meaty fight to canvas shoe category, with that great BKc promise to rep the history books in all American style. It takes a really thoughtful person with skilful eye to edit something so well that people can understand what it’s about without too much thought. I take my hat off to whoever can.
