In our tight knit little Ponytail world of creative people who love vintage, our sensory environment, and the human spirit, we draw inspiration from all this greatness and share it kindly with open arms. To me, creation is not about competition, nor is it about guarding your cards close to you… how will we ever learn and grow if we are just bouncing off silent walls of an empty room? So I am never surprised when I find pieces from my very own wardrobe, or perhaps vintage styling pieces that you’ve seen in our editorials here, show up in a new collection or walking down the street. That’s freaking awesome! To know that we aren’t lone soldiers floating through space, to know we have a voice, a community, and a passion is the most thrilling energy possible.
This current winter season, Sessun have illustrated a military woman amongst a super vast collection and to follow up, designer of the very salty French label, Emma Francois, has seamlessly transitioned to the silhouettes that we are familiar with on the journal. I see a very contemporary blend of 70s shapes, denim, natural colours, and a focus on natural fabrics that feels super relatable with an internet savvy audience. Expect lots of ankle, plenty of bootleg, and shapes inspired by workwear and vintage. We outline these staple shapes that a salty lady definitely needs in her wardrobe for good, old or new, that part’s up to you.
